Dr Michelle Wong provides assessment and intervention services for children with challenging behaviour across a range of settings including education, home, and other parts of the community. Functional assessments are conducted of antecedent (triggers) and maintaining factors. Ecological supports (e.g. visual scheduling, building healthy routines) are then devised to manipulate antecedent and maintaining factors. Skill-based training (e.g. social skills training, communication training, self-help skills) for children is conducted to replace inappropriate behaviours with more appropriate behaviours with the same function.
Dr Wong is an accredited Stepping Stones Triple P and Group Teen Triple P service provider. The Triple P: Positive Parenting Programs aim to help parents of children with disabilities and typically developing children develop effective management strategies for dealing with a variety of childhood behaviour problems and developmental issues.
