About Us

 

Dr Michelle Wong is a clinical psychologist who has specialised in providing assessment and treatment services to young people with social and communication disorders and their families, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and Intellectual Disability, for over ten years.

Dr Wong works in a leading paediatric public hospital as a specailist in social and communication disorders, alongside Australia's pre-eminent Developmental Paediatricians and Developmental Psychiatrists. Dr Wong provides clinical psychology services to patients with primary diagnoses of Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and Intellectual Disability with co-morbid mental health problems, a background of complex family issues and parental mental health problems, across a range of cultural backgrounds. Dr Wong also provides consultations in tertiary multidisciplinary clinics for Intellectual Disability and Fragile X Syndrome .

Dr Wong is a well-respected educator in the field of social and communication disorders and provides supervision and training to educators, allied health professionals, and medics across NSW. Dr Wong lectures at the University of Sydney and Institute of Psychiatry. She also consults to government and non-government disability and education organisations.

Dr Wong completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and PhD from the University of Sydney where she is currently an Honorary Associate. She co-authored the Emotion-based Social Skills Training Program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Dr Wong is a Registered Psychologist in New South Wales and a Member of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society.
